I'm still in Bloomington right now and I'm making money and studying like a mad woman. I can't really start to think about traveling to Germany yet because I have to focus on studying for the GRE. It's really not what I wanted, but I know that after the 31st of January I can concentrate on packing and celebrating my 21st birthday!
I'm very excited to get the GRE behind me. I haven't been studying quite as diligently as I should have been, but I'm treating these last two weeks like finals weeks and I'm going to be at the library every day and I won't spend too much time relaxing. I will continue to go to the gym/SRSC to partake in the different exercise classes they have. Those are my new favorite thing, but I learned tonight when they couldn't scan my ID that since I'm studying abroad I didn't have to pay an activities fee. This means that my card doesn't work at the SRSC and I have to buy day passes (which are $6) or a week pass, which is $22.50. I'm just going to buy a week pass and go at least four times. It will be a nice way to take off the edge after studying and working all day.
I'm really looking forward to celebrating my 21st birthday with all my friends. I know there are a lot of people that have already told me they are more than willing to buy me a drink. We'll see how many drinks I'm actually going to be able to consume because considering my track record it's not many haha.
Once I finish celebrating that then I will put the finishing touches on my packing and get ready to head out to Frankfurt. I'm flying from Chicago directly to Frankfurt, which will be nice since I won't have to worry about connections. I will arrive in Frankfurt at 5:45am, which will be very early. I guess I will just hang out at the airport for a while and then I'll be getting on a plane to head to Copenhagen, Denmark! It's going to be quite the start to my study abroad experience. I'm going to be in Copenhagen for three days with my great econ partner-in-crime Alex and I'll get to explore the city. I'm very excited for that.
Then after that I'll be heading to Berlin to spend about a week and a half with my friend Katie and I'll get to see all my other exchange friends. After Katie leaves from Berlin I'll be in Berlin on my own for a bit and then I'll finally head to Freiburg. It's all going to be a whirlwind, but I can't wait. Stay tuned for more updates!

My First Blog
Hey Everyone,
So as you all know I will be studying abroad beginning this coming March. I decided that I would create a blog to keep everyone updated about what I’m doing while in Germany. I know that I will be talking and staying in touch with many of you while I’m abroad, but this way you can know what I’m doing when we don’t have a chance to talk all the time. I plan on just writing about what I did during the day and about the different trips I’ll be taking. This is just going to be a public journal so I hope everyone enjoys it!
I know I’ll miss everyone!
